Enhanced sheet-based activated carbon media

Activated carbon plays an important role in food processing but can be costly and labour intensive to use. The new SUPRA AKS FB activated carbon media range from Pall provides a food contact compliant solution with high adsorption capacity which helps maintain quality and compliance while enabling more efficient food and beverage processing.

Activated carbon is often used to remove off-colour, odour or taste. However, traditional bulk powdered activated carbon (PAC) requires specialised equipment and often leaves residual PAC in the product, adding additional filtration steps and costs to the overall process. AKS FB sheet media is impregnated with immobilised carbon with higher adsorption capacity for the removal of colour and off flavour from liquid food and beverages.  It helps reduce waste, optimises raw material use and can realise an overall reduction in operational expenses without sacrificing product quality.
