New EHEDG Guidelines: Hygienic Engineering of Bulk Pack-off Systems in Process Lines for Dry Particulate Materials

11 February 2024

EHEDG has published new guidelines for the hygienic design of bulk packaging systems

Bulk packaging systems are often utilised in the food processing sector. Given that product handling typically entails product flow that may come into contact with the surrounding environment, potential hygienic hazards could occur.

Edyta Margas, Global Head of Food Safety (Bühler), and a member of the EHEDG Working Group ‘Dry Materials Handling’, said: “When correctly designed in compliance with this EHEDG guideline, pack-off systems will be cleaned more effectively, and will protect the dry particulate materials from chemical and biological contamination.”
