Enhancing Bigham’s sustainability credentials

Yorkshire Packaging Systems (YPS), has collaborated with Bigham’s to implement a new sustainable shrink wrap film for its range of cuisine meals.

The solution provided by YPS is a BFFri anti-fog shrink film – claimed to be one of the thinnest packaging films in the world, with the inclusion of 30% recycled content. This fully recyclable lightweight material has been easily integrated into the Bigham’s packaging machinery, which has resulted in a 12.31% overall plastic reduction for the company. 

The plastic reduction, plus the use of 30% recycled content, has seen an approximate carbon footprint reduction of 117,000kg.
