Engineered stainless-steel drive solutions

01 August 2022

Designed specifically for hygiene-sensitive duties, such as required in the food and drink industry, the Lafert Marlin stainless-steel motors, gearboxes and compatible drives offer multiple hygienic, energy-efficient drive solutions.

In addition, the company offers an extended range of customisation options including extended shafts, special flanges and different mount configurations. These options help ensure availability of the optimum drive package for specific applications that meet and, in some instances, exceed requirements of IE4.

Being smooth-bodied (no cooling fins), stainless steel machines with laser etched-in motor data, and up to IP69K moisture and dust ingress protection, Marlin motors are proven CIP units. This means they can be pressure-hose cleaned in-situ with no risk of potential build-up of residuals, flaking paint or rust contamination of product. In addition, they reduce the need for production machines to be dismantled to access the motors for cleaning, saving valuable production time and engineering costs.

Stainless-steel worm and helical bevel gears plus IP66 rated wash-down compatible inverters add to the company’s ability offer the correctly engineered solutions to satisfy the performance demands, hygiene and application requirements.

Other options include stainless-steel shaft mounted brakes and ATEX (Zone 22) machines.

Lafert’s Marlin motors are available as 2, 4 and 6 pole derivatives in power ratings from 0.18 to 22kW and range in size from 63 to 160 frame.
