Seven years on...

13 June 2022

Thanks to the success of previous flooring project, Brioche Pasquier returned to the same flooring specialist seven years later. Food Processing reports.

With its headquarters in France, Brioche Pasquier is an international bakery and patisserie business which employs 3,450 people across 18 sites, 14 in France and four overseas, including the UK site.

Kemtile has been asked to install its Kagetec Ceramic Floor Tiling on the second phase build at the Brioche Pasquier Bakery in Milton Keynes. It had won the trust of Brioche Pasquier by demonstrating its expertise in a previous project, where it laid Kagetec AR system for the 6,000m2 bakery plant including the mixing hall, main hall, silo area, and plant rooms.

The team from Kemtile, a division of the Global flooring business Stonhard, will be installing some 8,000m2 of the Kagetec AR-A Ceramic Floor Tiling System - to Brioche Pasquier’s precise pattern requirements – after a first phase was completed seven years ago.

Withstanding stresses
The ceramic floor tiling system is able to withstand thermal and mechanical stresses along with chemical spillages and requires very little maintenance besides regular cleaning.

In addition, Kemtile was also asked to instal 200m2 of its  Stonhard, Stonclad UF system – a heavy duty polyurethane resin floor screed  – and Wiedermann drainage in another part of the bakery.

Both the ceramic floor tiling system, incorporating hexagonal floor tiles, and Stonclad UF are HACCP-approved products.

Commenting on the project, David Priest, head of marketing at Kemtile UK, said: “It is testament to the durability of our tiling systems – still performing and looking like new seven years on – that we get new opportunities to go back and deliver more of the same hard-wearing, hygienic flooring solutions. Kagetec is a proven performer, delivering longevity - and good looks - with minimal maintenance in a tough bakery environment. It has also been good to install a resin floor elsewhere on the site to meet different needs.”

Discussing the ongoing collaboration with Kemtile, Ryan Peters, industrial director at Brioche Pasquier UK, said: "We continue to rely on Kemtile’s expertise to recommend the right tiling, resin and drainage solutions for our needs, which gives us fit for purpose flooring across all areas of our production site in the UK. We trust them to deliver every time.”
