Leuze is introducing new versions of the KRT18B series for reliably identifying print marks on packaging, even if they are barely distinguishable from the background. What makes the new contrast sensors unique is that they use white light and designed to work reliably with glossy materials, no matter what the colour of the mark is.

The KRT18B series has dual operating concept: The sensor functions can be configured via IO-Link or via a manual sensitivity control by potentiometer or teach-in button. Three teach levels guarantee the perfect setup routine for every application. The compact housing meets the IP67 and IP69K degrees of protection. This means it is optimized for use in harsh environments with ECOLAB certification.

The entire KRT18B contrast sensor product range (RGB and white light) is easy to control and it enables flexible operating ranges of about 13 mm (±3 mm). It will continue to work reliably even if the operating range fluctuates by about 20%.
