Fast, accurate and eco-friendly automatic dosing system

Color Service is an Italian-based leader in the design and production of automatic dosing systems for any kind of powder and liquid applied in the food industry. 

Why is dosing so important in food processing?  Weighing is a key element of the food production process for quality compliance: dosing the proper amount of ingredients is extremely important to fulfill recipe specifications and constant quality requirements.

Weighing ingredients with high accuracy ensures a repeatable and uniform result, which means that finished product has same taste in every single batch, always.

To support this necessity, the company’s technology has been developed to solve problems associated with the manual weighing and this has resulted in a design which abandons traditional production methods that inevitably would not allow to get a safe, fast and precise dosing.  

To meet customer demands, Color Service offers two automation solutions  – a complete full automatic and a semi-automatic weighing system.

Full automatic dosing system
The full automatic system guarantees high dosing accuracy, batch traceability and modularity of storage stations to satisfy customer’s current and future needs. Customer’s products (powders, granules, micro-granules flakes, liquids) are transferred and stored in dedicated silos of various capacities, using a high performance vacuum for powders or a pump for liquids which guarantee fast loading with low air consumption. During the dosing process, a multi-scale conveyor, completely aspirated through a dedicated dust extraction system, allows for the precise weighing of recipes that can be dosed directly into a bucket or into identified bags created in an automatic way: this is a fundamental characteristic that allows each individual recipe to be traced. Accuracies can be down to 0.01g and one recipe can be processed up to 30 seconds.  With the full automatic system all processes  are entirely automated.  

Semi-automatic dosing system
The semi-automatic weighing system option can offer a good compromise: the robotic storage of powder products with the manual weighing assisted by PC. In this way, according to the recipe, the system can  drop the right box and transfer it to the weighing position, where the operator, guided by the PC, is able to dose the product.
