Lubrication-free linear belt axis

The drylin ZLW belt axis, from Igus, is manufactured from FDA-compliant materials for use in food production applications. 

The ready-to-connect belt axis is designed for easy cleaning, and meets  the rigorous hygienic standards demanded by the food industry. 

In bakeries, for example, the use of traditional linear axes can pose a high risk of dough residues being deposited in hard-to-reach places, make cleaning difficult and, in the worst case, can introduce contamination risks.

The ZLW timing belt axes can be cleaned quickly and thoroughly, using high pressure steam jets with either chemicals or water. 

Undercuts have been minimised throughout the system and there are no gaps while rounded corners ensure better water flow during cleaning, allowing any dirt particles to be easily removed. 

Trusses and linear slides are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel. The gliders are made of food-grade tribopolymer iglidur A160, which enables low-friction dry running – avoiding the need for lubricants.
