Non-contact safety switch

01 April 2021

To combat the on-going problems with arduous environments prematurely wearing out exposed equipment, Euchner has launched a range of compact encapsulated non-contact safety switches which are said to outlast conventional IP-rated safety-switches many times over.

The CES-C14 switch features an encapsulated ingress-proof design, comprising a two-part epoxy resin outer shell, tested for chemical resistance including ammonia, diesel, silicates, kerosene, acetates and alkaline and acidic cleaning agents and  disinfectants in accordance with Ecolab specifications.

The switch is supplied with a 20M PUR connection cable, and in addition to a very tough outer shell, it offers a high degree of ingress protection including IP67/IP69K.

The units are designed with a high level of integrity and can be used in systems up to and including CAT4/PLe (EN ISO 13849-1).

The switch has a high tolerance to misalignment and can be provided in both Unicode and Multicode versions: The Unicode units create a ‘matched pair’ of switch and actuator preventing personnel manipulating the safety system through the use of a spare actuator – helping the facility meet the requirements of the safety standard EN-ISO 14119.
