Barcode scanner added to metal detector series

09 November 2020

Loma Systems has introduced a handheld barcode scanner to help improve supply chain efficiency when used with the IQ4 metal detector series.

For lines facing multiple product switches, operators have traditionally had to select from a list of products via the Loma user interface screen, to identify a new batch of products being presented. The addition of an IP52 rated Gryphon D4132-BK barcode scanner can be used to scan the packaged product’s barcode and if the product has previously been set-up the system will recall all the product’s characteristics and can?immediately?start detecting for metal contaminants.?

The barcode?dcanner?for the IQ4 is an ideal alternative when a line has a high volume of product changes per day or many products stored in the system. It means that operators simply scan?the packaging’s barcode, thereby facilitating accurate and quick?switching in the system with no risk of selecting the wrong product from the user?interface product selection screen.
