High definition marking onto delicate bakery products

16 December 2019

With increasing demand for direct laser marking from the food industry, Macsa ID UK’s SPA CB30 PLUS laser system is said to be well suited to marking the surface of delicate baked dough products such as breadsticks and crackers.

The SPA CB30 PLUS laser system can achieve a high-speed, high-definition mark on the surface of bread products without direct contact, helping to preserve quality and all of the properties of the food item. The CO2 laser creates a groove in the food surface that highlights the marking.

Direct laser marking is being increasingly utilised by the food industry as manufacturers and processors look at how to eliminate unnecessary packaging and labels that cannot be recycled. Marking directly onto food can reduce packaging costs and consumable waste, while maintaining traceability.
