Hygienic HMIs and servo motors help minimise contamination risks

06 October 2019

New hygienic industrial control hardware has been introduced by Rockwell Automation. The Kinetix VPH hygienic servo motors and a new stainless-steel version of the PanelView Plus 7 graphic terminal are designed to help minimise contamination and ease compliance.

The stainless-steel PanelView HMI terminal can be used on a machine in a ‘splash’ or contaminant zone without the need to be covered or isolated. This general-purpose HMI has been certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and has an ingress-protection rating of IP69K to support high-pressure, high-temperature chemical wash downs. It also uses a blue food-grade silicone gasket.

The new hygienic servo motors are designed in according with EHEDG requirements and 3-A sanitary standards and are also IP69K-rated and NSF-certified. They are available in a range of sizes and options to help meet a variety of application needs in food production.
