Partnership deal for food process equipment manufacturers

20 September 2019

Two food process equipment manufacturers have signed a collaboration agreement which will see the integration of their separate technologies.

UK-based Fabcon Food Systems and Italian process maker Engi Technologies, who make presses for non-fried snacks and rice cakes, signed an agreement at the Snackex exhibition in Barcelona.

The deal will see Snack-Tron, Engi’s new brushless drive processing machine, integrated into Fabcon’s seasoning and distribution systems. Snack-Tron features employs a brushless drive, replacing the more traditional hydraulic technology used for snack production – proven to reduce noise and save energy.

The agreement also gives Fabcon exclusive sales and distribution rights to market Engi equipment in the UK and Ireland.

Commenting on the agreement, Trevor Howard, managing director of Fabcon Food Systems said: “We both recognise how our respective equipment can be complimentary. Our partnership will open up new opportunities for our seasoning and distribution systems in the UK and further afield, while our customer base will help Engi introduce their range to new markets. “It’s going to add a new dimension for us and brings together a rare blend of British engineering and Italian innovation.”
