Pressure sensors for challenging hygienic applications

01 July 2019

When pressure sensing is required in challenging hygienic applications the robust stainless steel PP20H sensors from Baumer are said to offer a good solution. Features of the sensor range include an IP69K-rated stainless steel housing with a condensate-proof silicon measuring cell.

A scaled pressure range from -1 to 40 Bar, along with a choice of process connections offers versatility. The sensors are also available with 4 - 20mA signal and IO-Link connectivity and comply with the hygiene requirements necessary in food production applications where CIP and SIP capability are essential.

The pressure sensors cover a wide media temperature range of from -20 to 125°C without the need for a cooling line, so less space is needed for installation. Also, a wide variety of applications can be covered by just one sensor model ensuring cost and space savings. Several sensors can be simultaneously configured via IO-Link which simplifies switching point adjustment for different process stages at start-up, or batch changes saving time. Diagnostic data can be instantly called up and evaluated, which helps to increase system availability.
