Dairygold’s next milk powder plant is being built by GEA

14 January 2019

The scope of an order for Dairygold’s next milk powder plant in Ireland in Mallow, County Cork, won by GEA, includes a new spray drier in the form of GEA’s multi-stage dryer - MSD size 1000; a new evaporator to match; a new 12MT/hr x 25kg GEA powder packing LI Line including N2 gas packing; and associated powder transfer and handling systems.

This new plant in Dairygold’s Nutritionals Campus Mallow will have a powder output capacity of 7.5MT/hr of whole milk, skim milk and fat-filled milk powders and is expected to be on full production by March 2020.

GEA has previously supplied and commissioned projects for Dairygold in its other main milk-powder facility in Mitchelstown, providing a spray drier, evaporator and various other evaporator projects, as well as another 12MT/hr x 25kg powder packing LI Line and a 10MT/hr x 1,000kg IBC-filler and a powder system.
