Food Processing Awards

This, the 28th year of the Food Processing Awards, will be a showcase of the best companies, products and case studies in the food and beverage industry. Is it your company or its products, or have you dealt with a particularly good firm, admired a new technology, used a great product or met someone outstanding? It's time for you to let the industry know.
Your nomination for a product or company should be accompanied with material to support the entry - 100 words and a horizontal jpeg image. This information will assist online voters on who the winner in each category should be.
Voting will take place online with all of the categories except Skills Development, in which the winner is selected by a panel of judges. The winners will be announced at a glittering evening reception on 12 June 2012 at the Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire.

Here are the categories and their criteria for 2012:
ROBOTICS & AUTOMATION
A partnership involving the application of robotics or automation equipment in a food or beverage processing environment
PACKAGING SOLUTIONS
For innovation in design disciplines applied to the packaging and/or the use of packaging to enhance a product
TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT
For the most significant technological innovation a food or beverage processing environment
ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS
For partnerships that have demonstrated a real achievement in environmental solutions in the food processing industry
HYGIENE SOLUTIONS
Innovations in products and services to achieve a hygienic food or beverage processing environment
ENERGY MANAGEMENT
For partnerships that have demonstrated a real achievement in energy efficiency in the food processing industry
COMPANY OF THE YEAR
Companies that have excelled in any particular area of food and beverage processing. Entrants should have been in business for at least two years
PRODUCT OF THE YEAR
For best new product in the food or beverage sector
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Food producers who have produced quality examples of successful training and skills development initiatives from the sector
The 2011 FP Awards, which had more than 250 attendees, was notable for the number of surprise winners.
