New KQF exotic range: halal certified burgers in five world flavours

15 April 2015

KQF, the British manufacturer of halal convenience foods, has announced the launch of its KQF Exotic range - a series of half-pounder (220g) burgers available in five authentic flavours from around the world.

"The new Exotic range is aimed squarely at customers who are looking for convenience foods at the luxury end of the market," explains KQF Managing Director, Faruk Vali. "The burgers are considerably larger than usual and they contain 90% lean beef. We've developed them for consumers who want something really satisfying for special family occasions, and for professional caterers who want to differentiate themselves on the basis of size, quality and flavour."

The range features five new flavours, inspired by traditional dishes from around the world. These include Thai, Moroccan, South African, Portuguese Piri Piri and Mexican.

The products are an extension to KQF's Exotique range, which was originally developed for the export market. Many European consumers have a preference for milder flavours so although the Exotique burgers and kebabs are based on authentic Indian recipes, they deliver less chilli heat. The range has proved popular in France and elsewhere. Feedback from UK customers also revealed an interest in a wider, more adventurous range of flavours so KQF began developing a new range, based on international cuisines.

Formally launched on 21st March 2015, the 'gourmet' burgers in the new KQF Exotic range are available via retailers and the KQF online store -

The move also coincides with the launch of KQF's Jumbo range of quarter-pounders. This combines KQF's existing Texan burgers with a new 'Great British' range, in which the focus is on high quality meat, simply seasoned without the use of herbs or spices. Weighing 110g each, the burgers are available in beef, chicken and lamb.

These products effectively complete the company's burger range, as Faruk Vali explains: "With the launch of the Exotic and Jumbo ranges, we can now offer burger-lovers an end-to-end selection, starting with the standard 55g family size Classic. Above that, we have the 80g Chunky burger, the 110g Jumbo and the 220g Exotic at the top end."

Like all KQF products, the new burger ranges are certified halal by the HMC. They are produced under a quality assurance system that has achieved a ‘Grade A’ rating under the British Retail Consortium standard for food.
