Innovative Solutions from Wire Belt for Tough Conveyor Challenges

19 January 2015

Today’s more complex and highly automated mechanised systems in the food processing industry often pose significant handling challenges in transporting product from one operation to another.

While most of these processes are handled straight forwardly by modern conveying systems, no universal standard exists for conveyor widths, belt types, turning and positioning systems, or drive mechanisms in any given industrial situation. This myriad of production component options all too often ignores specific product requirements, with respect to weight, size, speed, and degree of separation, along with whether or not the product is fragile. That’s where Wire Belt excels! Whether it’s changing flow direction or the orientation of the product, adjusting speeds and feed rates, adding spaces between the products or simply transferring product from one segment of the operation to another, Wire belt has a solution for you.

Wire Belt offers a number of options that can eliminate problems facing a manufacturer in their sequential processing operations, such as Flex-Turn® Conveyors designed to assist manufacturers in turning their production line 90 degrees to save footprint space in their plant, thus saving the cost of increasing production area. The Ladder-Flex™ Conveyor designed to sort, converge or separate products while they are moving on a process conveyor belt, a major requirement for products that need to be separated to avoid sticking during and after a coating / enrobing process, or the Straight Conveyor, designed specifically for the customers application which can be fitted with various options of conveyor belt ensuring the versatility to satisfy most individual manufacturing requirements with both inclining and declining options available.

In the past few years there have been a number of technical advancements in conveyor technologies.  ‘Here at Wire Belt, we focus on the clean-ability and key elements of processing such as product orientation, product placement and improved production throughput.  The conveyors we design and manufacture are focused on adding value to a product as it flows through a process rather than just moving a product from ‘A’ to ‘B’.  While that trend is becoming more prevalent in the food processing business today, Wire Belt has been focused on the value proposition of its conveyors for decades.’
