Higher level food safety with Vikan's new one piece handle

22 August 2014

Designed to fulfill the food industry's stringent safety requirements, market leaders Vikan, known for setting superb hygiene standards, are introducing a fully colour coded ultra hygienic one piece handle for their brushes, squeegees and scrapers.

Constructed from food grade, reinforced and recyclable polypropylene, this innovative one piece handle is strong and rigid ensuring effective and thorough cleaning down through the broom and squeegee heads. At 34 mm in diameter and 6 percent lighter than existing fibre glass handles, the ergonomically designed handle has an easy to manage and comfortable grip The polypropylene's properties also make the handle comfortable to use in such cold environments as cold stores and meat production/processing plants.

But probably most important is the fact that its one piece design minimises any risk of parts falling off during use as well as eliminating any risk of contamination entering the handle via gaps and edges as can happen on a handle assembled in two/three parts.

Vikan's new handle is supplied in nine colour coded colours for easy visual segregation and extra food safety. It is available in three different lengths: 1300 mm, 1500 mm and 1700 mm. The Vikan thread fits securely on all Vikan's brushes, squeegees and scrapers.

FDA and EU compliant, the one piece handle is easy to clean, will withstand aggressive cleaning chemicals and is corrosion free.

Committed to providing the food industry with wide product choice, amazing value for money and excellent customer service, Vikan also offer a free colour zoning service to minimise bacterial cross contamination and transfer of allergens.
