Elopak introduces smarter flexible filling technology

24 June 2014

Elopak introduces the medium capacity ultra clean filling machine Shikoku S-PSF65UC. This is the first filling machine with a new more flexible machine platform for fresh and extended shelf life dairy and juice products.

This new machine is providing a competitive price point along with the flexibility in operation and efficiency benefits required for today’s fast moving and complex markets.

Based on reliable Shikoku technology the machine has a wide range of application and format flexibility. The machine will be available in two versions, a single lane machine at 6.500 cartons per hour (cph) and a double lane machine at 13.000 cph.  In addition, a more compact design reduces the footprint of the machine while maintaining the well proven technology.

The new machine has been adapted to run up to six different sizes of Pure-Pak® cartons (250ml to 1136ml) and three different carton shapes with 70 x 70mm cross section. Elopak has improved the hygienic design of the machine, enabling a more secure hygienic performance for chilled dairy and juice applications.

Minimal manual intervention and no mechanical changes are required to switch between different products, designs, pack sizes and carton shapes allowing fast and easy changeovers. Advanced operational flexibility is achieved and an Embedded Data Capturing System offers better process monitoring and traceability. The latest top sealer technology gives high flexibility in package shape for more differentiation and greater product security.

“Production efficiencies, costs and quality have all been implemented into the S-PSF65UC to create a value engineered filling machine option for fresh, fermented and ESL dairy plus juice, and juice drink products,” explains Olav Klonteig, Elopak’s Director EQS Application. “It is a smarter and more modern machine for more products, more carton configurations and therefore more opportunities for our customers in ever demanding markets.”
