Appetite for Engineering: Groceries Code Adjudicator confirmed as keynote speaker

19 June 2013

Food Processing magazine is proud to announce that Groceries Code Adjudicator, Christine Tacon, will be the keynote speaker at Appetite for Engineering 2013.

Taking place on 25 September 2013 at Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, Christine will be explaining how her role will help reinforce the Groceries Supply Code of Practice (GSCOP), which covers interactions between the 10 largest supermarkets and their direct suppliers.

The GCA Act, which was passed last month, will have a major impact throughout the whole of the UK food supply chain and ensure that large supermarkets abide by the GSCOP by treating their suppliers fairly and lawfully.

“The public want to know that suppliers are being treated fairly,” explained Christine, “and it is vital, in my role as Adjudicator, that I improve the business environment for direct suppliers to the trade.”

Appetite for Engineering 2013 will play host to delegates from the whole food supply chain and will focus on potential outcomes to current issues in the form of panel debates. Three primary issues will be discussed throughout the day: Integrity; Efficiency; and Responsibility and, delegates will be provided an unprecedented opportunity to share their thoughts with industry leaders.
