How your packaging can give you the competitive edge

10 May 2012

Appetite for Engineering, the one day event for food manufacturers, will show how a packaging solution worked for British Sugar. Don't miss this presentation if you want to know how this happened.

Llewellyn Rees, MD of RM Group, will talk at Appetite for Engineering about the company's work with British Sugar, and with ABB Robotics.

The RM Group presentation will focus on the company's core aim of providing the client with a complete packaging solution. To help explain this it will describe its company history, company present and its vision for the future.

''The presentation will major on our ability to consider at the start of a project the potential packaging problems that a given product presents,'' says Lel. ''This consideration - when combined with our knowledge of packaging machinery and experience of packaging different products - gives RM Group a competitive edge ensuring a reliable and cost effective packaging solution. As part of our presentation we will include examples of our project innovations.''

Lel caught the packaging solutions bug at an early age. Before he left school, his weekends were spent problem solving packaging issues for his family business. He then left school and worked for Control Techniques as an Electronics Apprentice.

In 1998, he joined the family business RM Group and ran a contract packaging plant at British Sugar Newark. Lel excelled when tasked with managing production/staff and meeting the British Sugar safety standards.

In 2004 he became a nationwide packaging equipment service engineer and the experience working with different companies and packaging machinery enabled him to become MD of RM Group in 2011.
