ENTER NOW: Skills Award to attract food sector's best and brightest

Food producers are invited to enter the Skills Development Award, part of the Food Processing Awards to be held at the Hinckley Island Hotel on 12 June. It is intended for food producers who have produced quality examples of successful training and skills development initiatives from the sector. Here's how to enter:

Known officially as The Award for Excellence in Skills Development & Impact, the award is the newest addition to FP's glamorous collection of titles, which will culminate at Appetite for Engineering on 12 June 2012 at the Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire.

A joint effort by Festo, The University of Lincoln's National Centre for Food Manufacturing; and the National Skills Academy for food & drink, resulted in the award, which was presented for the first time at the 2011 FP Awards.

The Award for Excellence in Skills Development & Impact came about primarily owing to the industry's passion for skills as personified by Gary Wyles, Festo MD; Jonathan Cooper, business development manager at the NSA; and Mike Dudbridge of the University of Lincoln.

Nominations are open to food producers and processors in the UK for training and skills development initiatives focused on automation and engineering related topics.

Its primary objective is to help highlight the significance of skills development in the pursuit of modern engineering and manufacturing techniques in the sector by presenting and recognising quality examples of successful training and skills development initiatives from the sector.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter the Skills Award, contact David Strydom at david.strydom@imlgroup.co.uk
You will need to provide 100 words regarding your company's initiatives. Furthermore, a site visit will be arranged between the person responsible for skills, training, development or recruitment, and a judge or judges selected by Food Processing magazine.
