Foodex back for more at the NEC

31 January 2012

Foodex, which says it is the UK show for processing, packaging and logistics, is back this month, between 25-27 March

It says it will incorporate elements of bakery and logistics and that it consists of four major shows at the NEC: Foodex, Food & Drink Expo, National Convenience Show and the Forecourt & Fuel Equipment Show.

Exhibitors will, the organisers say, cover the entire spectrum of the food and drink processing sector, including meat, fresh, dairy, beverages and seafood. It is aimed at everyone involved in the processing, packaging or retailing of food and drink products including production managers, factory managers, food technologists and hygiene managers as well as butchers, farms shops and other retailers.

But it goes further than that, also targeting logistics professionals, site owners and managers, operations managers and company directors. But the show will not consist only of exhibits. Features running throughout the show will include demonstrations, master classes and topical seminars and debates.

Companies that will take part in Foodex include Saturn Spraying Systems, which applies liquid coatings, using its patented Spinning Disc technology, for the bakery, biscuit, confectionery, meat and fish, and fruit and vegetable processing industries.

On display, in Hall 20, Stand L328, will be working examples from its machines, including its proven DiscMasterTM machine and a Sprinkler unit, with an additional option to facilitate the application of granular coatings, such as seeds, nuts and sugars, in defined lanes, as well as full width coverage.

Ravenwood Packaging will also exhibit at Foodex, when it puts on show the latest in linerless adhesive backed labels, and its labelling systems. The business, based in the UK, is involved in the production of linerless labels predominantly for the chilled food sector and the sales, servicing and supply of parts for a range of specialist applicators.

Ravenwood Packaging's G270 stand will show brand-owners, manufacturers and packers how to minimise on-pack packaging without compromising design quality and how to save on paper to help reduce solid waste and minimise escalating packaging costs.

Riggs Autopack will exhibit a selection of its Model 1000 depositors, filling machines, transfer pumps and conveyor filling lines at Stand M240, Hall 20.

Visitors to the Lancashire based company's stand will have the opportunity of viewing a high level multi-head automatic depositor with scroll feed slat conveyor for filling jars and bottles, a low level bag filling machine with a 5 litre fill capacity, and an Option 1 semi-automatic filling machine with food grade transfer pump designed for small to medium scale food producers.
