Greggs tech director leads pathogens seminar

Bill Wadsworth, Technical Director at Greggs will be speaking on the Importance of Pathogenic Bacteria at a Breakfast Seminar being held by the Society of Food Hygiene Technology (SOFHT) on 8 March 2012
With the spectrum of bacteria likely to cause disease broadening, Bill Wadsworth will discuss the business challenges presented by pathogenic bacteria with case studies of the solutions chosen to safeguard both products and customers.
In addition, Thelma Hooper, Microbiology Group Technical Manager at Alcontrol Laboratories will present an overview of the type of pathogen testing avialable to meet compliance, as well as exploring the rationale behind the methods used. Culprit organisms under the microscope will be Campylobacter, Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes and E. coli 0157.
Breakfast Seminar attendees will have the opportunity to seek guidance on detecting pathogens, air concerns, or discuss their requirements by contributing to a Q & A session after each speaker’s presentation.
