Schubert golf day goes with a blast

31 October 2011

Automated packaging system specialist, Schubert hosted its annual corporate hospitality golf day on Thursday 8 September 2011 challenging a number of customers to 18 holes of championship golf on the Twenty Ten course

A total of 24 golfers competed in a variety of competitions on the course built to stage the Twenty Ten Ryder Cup, at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, South Wales. Guests were welcomed with a pre-game brunch in the clubhouse, followed by the chance to practice their swing at the golf academy before putting their talent to the test on the stunning Ryder Cup course.

The prize-winners included Colin Taverner, from Seabrook Crisps who achieved Longest Drive, and the 1st Individual prize went to Mike Ward, of Dailycer. The winning team was made up of Chris Dodds from Thorntons, Rob Cuffe of PPS Food Projects, Jay Harrison and Mike Ward from Dailycer. All golfers were given a complimentary Twenty Ten engraved bag tag, and all winners were presented with Ryder Cup prizes during a special dinner in the evening.

“The day was a huge success, and as always extremely popular with our customers. Our corporate golf day is an excellent occasion to spend quality time with our customers, as well as giving us the chance to thank existing clients for both their business and their loyalty” commented David Maddern, Schubert UK’s sales director.

Paul Trickett from Greggs commented “it’s so pleasing that a company is prepared to devote time, resource and money on such a day, and one which will be remembered for many reasons”.
