Paint a picture of Christmas with Pidy

21 September 2011

Pidy canapé shells including the award-winning Mini Coloured Cones, Christmas Tree Vol au Vents, Amusette and Duobelle form the basis of this striking festive scene.

Just in time for the pre-Christmas buying in period, Pidy is launching 16 new products in September which are all suitable for Yuletide and New Year parties, whether they be celebrations at home, in a restaurant, prepared by outside caterers – or by the baker and caterer themselves.

Currently under wraps, the new wave of launches will bring an even wider choice of top quality ideas to help the party go with a swing.

Bakers can choose from several ready-to-use crumbles in Pidy’s 2011 portfolio, including Speculoos, the Dutch spice coffee biscuit which generates that evocative scent of Christmas gingerbread. Sprinkled over cakes, desserts, mince tarts and table centrepieces, the Meringue version gives the appearance of pristine snow which glows among the tinsel and icing.

Pidy’s tart cases come in circular format or the more unusual triangular and square versions. So, why not fill these with mincemeat and top with Meringue Crumble for an almost instant unique mince pie? Alternatively, fill them with savoury meats and pates or delicious, colourful fruit to lighten the occasion.

The company’s Mini Cones come in several colours. Complete with a gold and silver artist’s palette on a stand, Pidy has devised a Turkey, Ham and Cranberry Cone idea for Christmas 2011. The recipe requires just the green (spinach) and the red (tomato) cones to make it Christmassy. These are filled with equal portions of meat and cranberry sauce, then secured with a toothpick staked with two juicy fresh cranberries at the end.
