Food logistics expert, Edge Worldwide Logistics (EWL), is offering an expanded faster and lower cost service for food companies importing from Australia and New Zealand

The Salford-based company has expanded its global reach by increasing services from Australasia, and has added a series of Australian and New Zealand ports to its schedule, in response to strong customer demand.

EWL customers can now use the company’s logistics expertise from the New Zealand ports of Auckland, Lyttleton, Tauranga and Wellington as well as Australia’s Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Transit times from these ports to Northern Europe are a speedy 33 to 37 days.

Director of EWL, Philip Edge said: “We have expanded our Australasia service to handle expanding trade from these countries to China and Thailand, as well as increasing demand from UK food importers for a range of products including lamb, fish, dairy and apples.”

Applying the EWL ethos of using a highly efficient consolidated service, EWL will be able to provide a cost-effective logistics method. This has been shown to save new customers up to £800 per reefer container.
