Linkx collates cartons quicker!

30 June 2011

With a handling capacity of up to 300 cartons per minute – which is as much as 50% more than typical machines with similar functionality – the new Matrix side-feed collating and shrink wrapping machine from packaging technology expert, Linkx Systems, is ideally suited for use in today’s demanding high-volume production environments.

Not only does the high capacity of the machine make it easier for users to maximise plant productivity, it also means that, in many applications, only one Matrix machine is needed to handle work that would require two machines of more conventional design. The result is big savings in cost and in valuable factory floor space.

The high throughput of the Matrix collator/shrink wrapper is complemented by its ease of use. A colour touch-screen operator interface is provided which not only gives instant access to real time and historical production information, but also makes switching between pre-programmed products as easy as touching the screen.

The operator interface additionally allows users to access the machine’s powerful and comprehensive diagnostic system and, as further aid to rapid commissioning and faultfinding, it even stores full copies of the operator manuals and other machine documentation.

Servo drives, which are used for all major functions, are the key to the exceptional performance and versatility of the Linkx Systems Matrix collator/shrink wrapper. A ten-axis precision servo system means that all motions are reliably and accurately controlled, giving total repeatability, even when the machine is operating at full throughput.

Suitable for use with cartons from 225 x 180 x 60 mm to 130 x 90 x 25 mm, the Matrix machine features modular construction which means that it can easily be configured to suit the user’s precise needs.

Based on well-proven principles and technology to ensure complete reliability, the machine incorporates energy efficient drives and shrink tunnel to minimise its environmental impact as well as its running costs.
