Delegates flock to sign up

18 April 2011

Places are running out as delegates flock to this year's Appetite for Engineering, thanks to a stellar cast that includes Coca-Cola, VION Food Group, Heinz and Westaway Sausages

The event has also attracted as sponsors many of the top names in the food manufacturing industry including Bosch Rexroth, ABB Robotics & Automation, Siemens, Rittal, Festo, Werma, Ishida Europe and EPLAN.

The presentations will revolve around the most pressing issues facing the industry such as hygiene, skills, packaging, challenges facing SMEs, the befits of going global, reduced downtime on machine documentation, maximising profit from operation and government funding.

The Technology Strategy Board will be represented by David Alvis, a lead specialist, who will shed light on the importance of government funding.

Melanie Leech, director-general of the Food & Drink Federation will talk about the future of the UK food industry while Barry Aspey, environmental control manager at Heinz and later Jos van Limberghen, automation engineer at Coca-Cola Enterprises, will provide an important perspective on engineering.
