St Helen's Farm launches 'first ever' low fat goats' yogurt

St Helen’s Farm, goats’ dairy producer, says it's once again set to break new ground with the launch of the UK’s 'first low fat goats’ yogurt'

Sold in 450g pots, the new yogurt contains 78% less fat and 48% fewer calories than the standard whole milk natural goats’ yogurt. It will be available in 200 Waitrose stores from 9 February.

The yogurt is being launched in response to requests from customers for a low fat goats’ milk yogurt. It is not the first ground breaking product from the Yorkshire-based company: in 2008 St Helen’s Farm launched the first skimmed goats’ milk following similar requests from customers.

St Helen’s Farm sales and marketing manager Mike Hind said: “Our customers were asking us for a low fat version of our natural yogurt and so we feel this product satisfies a very real consumer need. We know that the demand is there, and we’re pleased to be first to market with this product.”

He added: “Consumers are looking for lower fat alternatives to traditional dairy products and the launch of our new low fat yogurt is a sign that the market for goats’ milk products is maturing.”

St Helen’s Farm is based at Seaton Ross near York, and produces a range of goats’ dairy products including milk, butter, cheese, cream and yogurt.
