New patisserie range 'hits sweet spot'

Brakes Group own-brand bread and patisserie specialist La Boulangerie has crafted what it describes as a range of quintessentially French patisserie offerings, including three patisserie bars and three tartelettes

The six treats, which are authentic in both taste and appearance, have been handmade by pâtissiers. All use typically French flavours, from the La Boulangerie Tartelette au Citron, to the La Boulangerie Delice aux Cerise. The range is now available to order.

To be enjoyed as an afternoon treat or post dinner indulgence, each delectable patisserie is individually presented. As Simon Cannell, business manager at La Boulangerie commented: “Now is the time to embrace the French patisserie culture where customers can enjoy a more upmarket experience with a well dressed desert to savour and enjoy, rather than the typical eat and go culture of the coffee shop. Our patisserie range, exclusive to La Boulangerie, takes its influence from classic French patisseries to offer the ultimate indulgence and we are proud of the resulting delicacies.”

Patisseries in detail:
 The La Boulangerie Delice aux Cerise is a soft chocolate sponge topped with cherries, enrobed with a rich chocolate mousse and finished with a chocolate flavoured glaze.

 The traditional French patisserie, La Boulangerie Opera, is elegantly presented and made with layers of almond sponge, light espresso cream and rich chocolate ganache. It is then finished with a chocolate flavoured glaze.

 The elegant La Boulangerie Pont Neuf is a crunchy chocolate brownie and hazelnut biscuit base topped with a rich chocolate ganache and chocolate mousse, finally topped with a velvety dark chocolate coating.

All three patisserie bars are handmade in France and individually presented in clear plastic wraps for that authentic French patisserie feel.

Tartelettes in detail:
 The La Boulangerie Tartelette au Chocolat has a butter and almond pastry base filled with a decadent chocolate ganache.

 Filled with a zesty lemon cream, the La Boulangerie Tartelette au Citron, has the same French style almond and butter pastry base.

 The La Boulangerie Tartelette au Poire is a French classic of a butter and almond pastry, filled with a sweet creme patisserie and almond frangipane and finished with a half pear.

All the tartelettes are handmade and presented in individual paper cases.

This range of patisserie complements the current La Boulangerie range, which includes artisan loaves and baguettes, sandwich and accompaniment breads, traditional bakery, Viennoiserie and confectionery.
