Sirane ready for Fruit Focus 2010
15 July 2010
Europe’s premier packaging solutions company, Sirane, is preparing to enjoy its third successful Fruit Focus exhibition in East Malling Research Centre Kent

The exhibition is to be held on Wednesday 21 July.
Once again Sandra Evans and Veronique Richards (both pictured) will represent the company: Sandra says ''our main message to all is Sirane’s innovative packaging expertise is open and available to all parts of the fruit supply chain. We’re here to innovate for growers and retailers throughout the supply chain and are active in all areas of the world with all kinds of pack solutions.''
Sandra adds that ''at Sirane we want to encourage the fruit sector to really release its imagination in terms of its current marketing and product offerings. The annual Fruit Focus exhibition always gives a great opportunity to take a step back and try and give the product a boost through the right kind of presentation.
''We have a number of new ideas for variable-sized punnet dividers to show to the trade and other ways of providing attractive marketing for the ‘five a day’ health message.
''Above all, however, our expertise is in working with the ideas of the customer – and so we look forward to working with those throughout the day. Fruit focus is always a great calendar point in the year: We can all catch up generally; take stock of how the season is progressing and share new ideas and information.''
All Sirane’ fruit-based packaging will be available for sampling at the East Malling show – together with the company’s Flower-Fresh standard and our compostable pouches for herbs and small plants
Sandra Evans notes the past few months have seen Sirane further extend its network and marketing within the fruit sector - for stone or soft fruit packaging applications; integrated packs; absorbent solutions; transit packaging and other innovations. Sirane once again played its part at London-based Berry Congress on 12 May and also attended Fresh Convenience Congress in London, 22-24 June.
Sirane is also rebooked to exhibit for the 2nd year running at Berlin-based Fruit Logistica, 9-11 February 2011. Sirane founder and director Simon Balderson says ''the worldwide fruit sector continues to be massively important to Sirane and an important outlet for our particular expertise in absorbent packaging.
''Our Dri-Fresh Resolve absorbent pads continue to hold centre stage at heart of our product offering. We truly believe our new fruit pad to be a breakthrough packaging solution because it provides a step-change in the economics, shelflife, and product yield for soft fruit.
''In essence, the Sirane fruit pad provides instant absorption and the hidden juice means that the fruit always looks good even if it happens to be over-ripe. The grower can pack more fruit, confident that the packaging will keep it intact and fresh and the fruit retailer can also rely on the packaging to do the same.
''The consumer is happier with the product and is more likely to eat it rather than throw it away. The levels of returns and wastage throughout the whole supply chain are massively reduced – and everybody benefits.''
