Fortress' happy birthday for Just Love Food Company

22 June 2010

The Just Love Food Company looked to Fortress Technology when setting up its production line for nut-free celebration cakes in South Wales earlier this year

Launching in 200 Sainsbury’s stores nationwide, The Just Love Food Company was set up by Mike Woods after struggling to find suitable birthday cakes on the market for his two children with nut allergies. In order to comply with food industry standards, he had to incorporate a metal detector into the brand new facility at Blackwood, Gwent.

“We have searched the breadth of the UK to find suppliers who meet our requirements and who acknowledge our nut free promise. Fortress Technology was able to offer us a competitively-priced metal detection system suitable for our needs and to ensure delivery to fit in with production schedules” he commented.

“Fortress’s Phantom In-foil Metal Detector has the capability of detecting metal contaminants and to differentiate between them and the ferrous metals contained in our foiled cake boards.”

Mike confirmed that the metal detector was easy to install and operate on the unique birthday cake production line and that Fortress had provided good levels of service and training, concluding that he would be happy to recommend the company to other food manufacturers.

The robust metal detection system is operating on Just Love Food’s production using the latest Digital Signal Processing technology to provide unparalleled precision and speed.

Established in the UK since 1999, Fortress Technology offers an extensive range of Phantom branded metal detection systems for a variety of industries including food, pharmaceutical, lumber, plastics and textiles. As well as supplying a series of standard metal detectors, the company can custom-build machines to suit non-typical applications.

Fortress is backed by skilled in-house design, technical and consultancy teams and a growing distributor network. The company offers high quality spare parts, flexible warranty packages, training, product testing and rental units.
