Chopper pump mixes it up
24 May 2010
A dry-installed Landia Chopper Pump is set to complete 10 years' uninterrupted service at Saeby Fish Processing Plant in Denmark, a European privately owned fish canning company

At the plant in Vendsyssel on the northern tip of Jutland, where Saeby specialize in the processing of mackerel, Landia’s MPTKR-I Chopper Pump has been successfully mixing the contents of a tank through a recirculation system before sludge is pumped to a tanker truck.
The sludge, which includes polymers, emanates from the dewatering unit, and has a dry matter content of 15 %. To handle this high dry matter content efficiently and effectively, the 18.5kW Landia Chopper Pump was built with a special feeder propeller.
Almost a decade on, the Landia Chopper Pump has worked continuously – without breakdowns - and with only routine preventative maintenance required.
