Arco donates to charity for 'vital overseas work'

17 February 2010

UK safety company Arco is donating 1% of the sales of its E-gard range to the Sound Seekers charity to help raise funds to conduct vital work overseas

The campaign is the first of Arco’s 125 good deeds to celebrate its 125th anniversary.

Seven out of ten deaf children live in the developing world with no access to basic hearing assessment, treatment and medicines. Sound Seekers works to improve the lives of deaf children and children living with ear disease in the developing countries of the Commonwealth of Nations.

The E-Gard range, available in Arco’s Big Book catalogue, on its website and through its branch network, guarantees the wearer a high performing, comfortable hearing protector at an affordable price. The range provides hearing solutions for all safety requirements and includes disposable ear plugs, reusable corded ear plugs, banded ear plugs and detectable ear plugs.

Steven Binnie, Product and Procurement Manager - PPE at Arco said: “The work that Sound Seekers does within the Commonwealth nations is commendable and we are proud to be able to help them raise vital funds in this way. Hearing loss remains one of the biggest risks to workers in the UK who are exposed to high levels of noise at work.

“By purchasing hearing protection products from our E-gard range, workers are not only keeping themselves safe at work but also supporting those with hearing difficulties that are unable to afford treatment and medicines. This marks the first of Arco’s 125 good deeds this year to celebrate 125 years in business. Arco is dedicated to its corporate social responsibility and is proud to be able to give something back to the global community.”
