Fresh citrus fruit zests

Beacon Foods is expanding its range of products to include fresh citrus fruit zests. The Brecon-based company has invested in bespoke machinery to increase its offering.
Whereas much of the preparation work was done by hand in the past, the new machinery has increased output and guarantees uniform zest shreds.
"The new machine, which was made to our specification, produces a quality product and increases our zesting capacity considerably," said Jas Singh, Beacon Foods' senior production manager. ''A major benefit is that we can set the cut size to match a customer's specific requirements."
Beacon Foods is now offering orange, lemon and lime zests, both fresh and carameilsed. The zests are suitable for desserts, cakes and speciality breads.
