Wyke Farms selects Ross ERP

04 September 2009

Somerset-based Wyke Farms has selected a 25-user Ross ERP system from Aspera Solutions to manage its high-profile cheese and butter manufacturing business

Wyke Farms says it has grown from a traditional cheese-maker to a major national brand with a streamlined 21st century production process. The new Ross ERP system will manage cheese manufacture, storage, packing, distribution and administration, providing key business information as Wyke Farms continues to grow.

Wyke Farms is a family owned farming and cheese-making business, supplying award-winning traditional Farmhouse Cheddar to the major supermarkets, wholesalers and other outlets. What started as labour-intensive manufacturing is now a modern, automated process using the latest manufacturing and distribution technology.

The company needed a business system to integrate these processes from cheese manufacture and storage of maturing cheese, to packing and finally distribution through their logistics partners. After reviewing the market, Wyke Farms selected Ross ERP from Aspera. The system will be implemented at the Bruton and Wincanton sites and will be live in early 2010.

“We reviewed a number of systems before selecting Ross ERP from Aspera,” commented Paul Hardwick, finance director at Wyke Farms. “Ross ERP is widely used in the food industry and has the required features in the standard product. Aspera Solutions’ experience in the food industry, particularly the dairy sector, gave us the confidence that this is the best solution for Wyke Farms.”

“We're delighted to have been selected by Wyke Farms to implement and support their Ross ERP system” said Lonan Byrne, managing director of Aspera Solutions. “We will be implementing a fully integrated system which will make a great contribution to efficiency and decision support. We are looking forward to a long and successful partnership with Wyke Farms.”
