'High speed' wrapping machine

Adpal, UK integrator for Italian manufactured TOSA srl pallet stretch wrapping systems, has announced details of the TOSA 125 ‘ring machine’. This can provide a solution to meet high speed requirements.
There is also the possibility to wrap up to 170 pallets per hour utilising a twin reel system.
The TOSA 125 machine, with rotating film-reel, will provide, it is said, continuous, secure and compact packing of various palletised loads by means of different wrapping programs, which makes this unit versatile. A user friendly touchscreen enables operatives to interface with multiple program selection to include the complete cycle, a downward / upward cycle only, plus a wrapping of the top or the bottom of the pallet only.
If required to protect palletised goods against the elements, overall wrapping of all five sides is guaranteed with the introduction of a ‘Waterproof’ top sheet dispenser integrated into the machine. The rotary ring design is suitably machined and ground for guaranteed balance when running at high speeds and can contribute to increases film savings.
Suitable heat sealing of the film tail away from the product, also ensures no loose tails of film trail from the load after wrapping. If pallets go into high bay warehouse, then the film tail sealing prevents profile checkers from rejecting the loads.
This all-steel welded TOSA 125 pallet stretch wrapping machine can be installed and integrated into any existing packing line due to its 2 legged construction and can perfectly meet high production speeds if required.
It is supplied complete with a top pneumatic presser, powered pre-stretch assembly, film hooking and cutting unit, film sealing unit, perimeter safety-guards, control cabinet with PLC and possibility to adjust the machine parameters. An automatic carriage locking system is installed for ‘Health & Safety’ purposes should the machine cycle be interrupted at any time, or for safe working during routine maintenance for example.
With a rear opening panel, this allows for fast, easy and safe film threading and access to standard components that can easily be sourced. Optional features for specification also include automatic film reel changing using a simple ‘Patented’ design, plus for automatic corner post applications there is the option of a magazine for several types / sizes of corner board as required.
