New hygienic large plastic containers

20 July 2009

European plastics materials handling specialist Craemer has introduced a range of hygienic containers to the UK, designed for the handling and distribution of product in the food processing industry

Hygiene, stability, easy handling and durability are said to be the reasons Craemer’s large containers have become what the company says is the accepted standard particularly in the European food and meat processing industry but the versatility of these have now been exploited to enable them to carry various ingredients such as chemical and pharmaceutical powders, granules and even syrups for batch processing or packing.

Manufactured from strong, food grade natural virgin HDPE, these thick walled containers are said to be robust and maintain consistency in shape owing to steel bars reinforcing the rim. Easily cleaned owing to the smooth surface and resistant to chemicals, these Craemer products are tapered in design to be nestable, significantly reducing storage space and in turn, return transport costs.

Craemer’s large containers have a capacity range of 125L –650Litres and can be manually handled safely using strong rigid handles, mobilised on specially designed Craemer trollies or transported by pump truck forks and forklifts, which can enter beneath containers on raised feet with a sufficient clearance of 100 mm.

The large food safe containers can be used in temperatures ranging from -30° to +70° C. and are available with stackable lids, plus other optional features including bung hole/ plug and container acid-proof drainage tap and ball valve for specified containers. The standard white large containers are expected to provide a long trouble-free service life and are also available in different colours, corporate printing and sequential numbering on containers depending on quantities required.
