The Campden BRI Big Picture

Campden BRI (formerly CCFRA) provided Food Processing with an image taken by staff in the association's Microscopy department using their new Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).

The SEM is underpinning research, troubleshooting and performing routine analysis related to food structure, foreign body identification and food contact surfaces. It enables detailed visual examination of samples and, linked to an X-ray micr-analyser, provides definitive identification of materials such as glass, metal and stone.

And the answer to the question of what the image is? It is SAGE
