Bacteria killing flooring solution

28 July 2018

The HACCP certified Flowfresh range from Flowcrete UK provides all the flooring properties required by large-scale food facilities to maintain an efficient, sanitary and productive site.

“Getting the floor area in a food & beverage plant right can be a challenge. For example, the capacity for the floor to be quickly and easily cleaned is critical and relies on the finish delivering a seamless surface that won’t harbour dirt, bacteria or grime,” said Kevin Potter, managing director at Flowcrete UK’s. Stainless steel drainage, an important health and safety criteria, can be incorporated into a Flowfresh finish and coving can be added along the floor’s edge to further enhance cleanability.

Flowfresh also incorporates an antibacterial agent that is able to eliminate up to 99.9% of bacteria in contact with the floor. The Polygiene additive consists of a thermosetting amino compound locked into the resin matrix of the flooring material. It emits powerful silver ions that target germs on the surface of the floor, penetrating the cell membrane of the bacteria and causing it irreparable damage.
