Air-operated double diaphragm pump designed for food production

16 July 2018

AxFlow has introduced the new Almatec MM Series of air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps which are designed specifically to meet the standards, regulations and operational requirements for the food and beverage industry.

Using food-grade wetted materials and a construction that provides easy cleaning, the pumps feature soft redirections without rotating parts and shaft seals in the product chamber. This feature, when combined with the pump’s gentle displacement principle, results in a pumping solution that is suited to use in a variety of food and beverage applications.

The materials and design of the MM series can also cope with CIP and SIP activities. Construction materials comply with FDA Standards, and pumps equipped with PTFE diaphragms and ball valves also comply with EC1935/2004. In addition, the pumps are ATEX conforming according to the 2014/34/EU directive.

Available in three sizes the pumps can achieve maximum capacities of 3.5, 9.2, or 20m3/hr, maximum discharge pressure up to 7 bar and a short-term temperature range up to 130°C for cleaning processes.
