Hygienically-designed energy chains

08 June 2017

The TH3 series is a hygienically designed energy chain from igus, developed for use on machines in the food and beverage processing and packaging industries.

Its open design makes it easy to clean, while rounded corners and simple, threadless connections prevent dead spaces where debris and germs can build-up. The structure of the e-chain avoids surfaces lying on top of each other; this prevents plastic on plastic abrasion and material shedding.

“The TH3 series is the world’s first plastic e-chain developed according to ‘hygienic design’ guidelines,” said Justin Leonard, the-chain director, igus. The blue material is FDA-compliant and is highly resistant to aggressive cleaning agents and chemicals.

The TH3 e-chain is available from stock with a choice between 25.5mm and 45mm inner heights, and four inner widths for each of these heights.
