24 year-old Richard secured a job at Walkers after attending a Feeding Britain’s Future workshop

24 September 2015

“I’d been on Jobseeker’s Allowance looking for work for about a year when my JobCentre advisor told me about Feeding Britain’s Future. I saw it as a great opportunity to hear directly from an employer about what they look for in applicants.”

“I’d never worked in food or grocery before so it was really helpful to see how the environment works. The Feeding Britain’s Future workshop really boosted my confidence.”

During the workshop, Walkers spotted Richard and thought he was exactly the type of employee they were looking for. He had the right attitude – he wanted to learn and had loads of potential.

“I was thrilled when Walkers offered me a full time job. I’ve been there a year now and really feel like part of the team.”

“I’d recommend Feeding Britain’s Future to anyone looking for work – it really helps to hear from companies what they’re looking for in candidates – and you never know what could happen unless you give it a try!”
