AvantiGas announces three-way partnership to offer food and drink industry low-cost biomass-fuelled boilers

26 August 2015

A division of AvantiGas, a major off grid energy supplier, AvantiRenewables, has announced a three-way commercial partnership which is set to bring environmental and financial savings to food and drink businesses looking for energy and cost-efficient steam boilers.

Collaborating with Byworth Boilers, one of the UK’s leading commercial steam biomass boiler manufacturers and Janfire UK a provider of Swedish burners and technology, AvantiRenewables says the new enterprise will offer industrial biomass steam boilers to businesses in the food and beverage industry with no upfront capital commitment and a promise to reduce CO2 emissions.

The ‘whole solution’ approach combines decades of operational knowledge, engineering expertise and resources to provide a complete biomass steam boiler package to facilitate high power cleaning, sterilisation and energy efficient heating.

Steam boilers have been used in the food and drink industry for many years to generate steam and hot water for use in processing, cooking and sanitisation. The ability to eliminate microbiological risks in food have made steam boilers the ideal choice for processes including the pasteurisation of dairy products, baby food production and the sterilisation of packaged food, all of which make steam a popular choice of boiler amongst industrial bakeries, butcheries, drink producers and processed food manufacturers.

The steam boiler solutions offered by the AvantiRenewables collaboration include brand new technology, high efficiency and low carbon energy, and capital funding so no up front financial commitment is required. They are also predicted to deliver CO2 savings of around 2,000 tonnes each year per MW of installed capacity.

The AvantiRenewables biomass fuel supply chain operation offers optional LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) back up supplies should additional peace of mind be required.

AvantiGas Managing Director Neil Murphy said: “This partnership reflects a significant leap in energy provision with three key industry players joining forces to bring cost, environmental benefits and energy savings to the UK’s food and beverage manufacturers which use steam as part of their production processes and sanitisation.

“We are delighted to be working alongside two established manufacturers who have a combined 70 years expertise to collectively deliver the very best in cost-effective steam boiler technology.”

Adrian Rhodes Technical Director of Byworth Boilers said: “It has long been our aim to provide a holistic and complete steam energy solution to businesses which are looking for a more responsible and energy efficient means of operating. For more than 40 years we have been engineering, supplying and installing fuel efficient boiler solutions to help reduce the carbon footprint in the UK.”

Kenny Paterson of Janfire UK , Janfire AB’s UK distributor, added: “As specialists in biomass burners we have over 30 years’ expertise so, we are confident in our offering of a safe, clean and workable steam biomass boiler solution, driven and managed entirely by experts.”
