Senior appointments for food training body

Two senior appointments have been made at Improve, the food and drink sector skills council and The National Skills Academy for Food and Drink Manufacturing
Amy Crooks joins the team at the organisation’s York headquarters as senior brand manager while Mica MacInnes joins as a skills consultant for The National Skills Academy.
Amy, an experienced marketing manager from Leeds, arrives from Provident Financial where she worked as a Senior Marketing Communications Executive. She joins to head up a new joint marketing team for Improve and The National Skills Academy following the re-structure of the two organisations earlier this year.
“Food and drink is a new industry for me and this is a really exciting time to be joining Improve.
“During my career I have worked in several different sectors, which has given me valuable experience and I am really looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
Mica, from Ashington, Northumberland worked in Pharmaceutical manufacturing before setting up Chrysalis Learning and Development Solutions, a management, learning and development consultancy. She also set up networking organisation; Swans (North East) Limited which supports people setting up their own businesses and helps them develop leadership, management and business skills.
In her new role with The National Skills Academy she will be working with employers to identify the training needs of their employees and with training providers to ensure appropriate training provision is available to develop the skills of those working in the sector.
“The National Skills Academy is an organisation I am sure I will really enjoy working for and this is a really interesting opportunity as it allows me to apply my learning and development knowledge and use my consultancy skills.
“With this being a newly created role it is unchartered territory, which is what makes it so exciting.”
